Relay: Remote Play

Your Xbox, within reach.

Help with Relay on iPhone and iPad.

Connect to your console

  1. Enable Remote Play in your Xbox console settings and use the Microsoft account associated with that console.
  2. Open Relay and follow the Microsoft sign-in instructions.
  3. Choose your console. Tap its artwork or Let’s play to connect.

Relay streams from your own console. It does not include games or Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Improve picture and sound

Start on the same reliable Wi-Fi network as your Xbox. A wired connection for the console can help. If a session fails, return to the dashboard and reconnect. Check your console is reachable and Remote Play is enabled.

The free version uses a 720p target with automatic bitrate. Relay Pro offers a 1080p target, custom bitrate and picture enhancements. Actual received quality depends on your console and connection.

Controllers and microphone

Pair a supported Bluetooth controller in your iPhone or iPad settings, or use Relay’s touch controls. Controller studio lets you try and customise touch controls without sending input to your console.

Microphone sharing starts muted. Enable it during a stream only when you want voice chat. If access was denied, review Relay’s microphone permission in your device settings.

Restore Relay Pro

Use the same Apple Account that purchased Pro. In Relay, open Settings, choose Unlock Relay Pro, then Restore purchases. Pro is a one-time purchase for iPhone and iPad, not a subscription. Mac and Apple TV editions are not included in this release.

Sign out

Use Sign out in Relay to clear the saved Microsoft sign-in token and displayed profile. This does not delete your Microsoft account or Xbox history.
